Watch Our Story HDR has an immediate opening for a senior-level Professional Engineer to lead highway design services and oversee project delivery in the New York/New Jersey area and the Northeast region. This role involves setting the vision and strategy for highway design, supervising staff, managing large projects, supporting business development, and partnering with the Transportation Business Group Professional Services Lead to enhance technical resources and quality standards. Responsibilities

Provide technical and client leadership in highway design, mentoring staff on planning, design, and construction projects. Manage complex highway design projects, ensuring quality and technical excellence. Support project delivery through QA/QC roles to ensure successful outcomes. Collaborate with leadership and project teams to develop solutions meeting client needs. Serve as Project Manager, overseeing project production and deliverables. Develop and retain staff, promote best practices, and foster innovation. Contribute to thought leadership by engaging with industry trends and emerging transportation technologies. Business Development

Lead efforts to develop client relationships and market-driven solutions to grow market share. Participate in pursuit activities and develop strategies for winning new projects. Represent HDR at industry events and professional organizations. Qualifications

Preferred: 15+ years in highway engineering, primarily in NY/NJ. Master’s degree in engineering, planning, or related field. PE license in NY and NJ or ability to obtain within 3 months. Experience with NY/NJ agencies and large project management. Active industry involvement and leadership experience. Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience. Professional registration and technical expertise. Leadership in team development and collaboration. Our Values and Commitment
