We provide innovative and compassionate services to individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. We are looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to work in our Residential/Outpatient Treatment Facilities and Community Programs. Psychiatric Advanced Nurse Practitioner (PANP) Location: Paterson, NJ Job Summary: The Psychiatric Advanced Nurse Practitioner will provide clinical services including initial and ongoing assessments, initial treatment, crisis plan development, prescription, ongoing management of medication and discharge planning. The psychiatric nurse practitioner will be responsible for treating a range of adult male and female clients having mental illness and substance abuse disorders who are currently attending residential or outpatient services at Straight and Narrow. The PANP will participate in Multidisciplinary Team Meetings (MDT) weekly. Responsibilities *Responsible for providing residential and outpatient care to clients showing a change or decline in mental status, chronic or urgent medical conditions Work independently with other members of the medical and clinical team. Take part in a Multidisciplinary team that provides primary care to clients Perform client’s histories, risk factor assessment, ordering of therapeutic and diagnostic tests; and attend to consultations and appointments Prescribe medications following the agency’s policy, formulary and relevant regulations of the State Consult with physician on cases that are beyond the scope of qualification of APNP Put all relevant client data in medical records Formulate, execute and review healthcare education delivered to patients for diseases prevention Ensure smooth communication with other medical and clinical professionals for effective delivering of service to clients For full time positions, we offer medical, vision, dental, life and supplemental life insurance. Accidental and Critical Illness Insurance, 403B with employer match, Paid Time off (PTO), in house training seminars, two training days for certified professionals. SN also offers supervision for those individuals trying to become Job Qualifications: Possession of a degree in Advanced Practice Nursing, New Jersey Licensed Authorization to prescribe medication 3 years’ experience with addiction and psychiatric treatment. Knowledge of addiction and psychiatric principles, practices and procedures. Knowledge of prescribed medications and side effects. Skill in interviewing individuals Ability to diagnose and provide treatment to individuals Be compassionate, sensitive, and possess strong reasoning and thinking skills Ability to communicate and work effectively with clients, staff, medical team and all other involved in client care.
