TRP Laboratories
The Chemist will perform liquid chromatograph analysis (carbonyl analysis from vehicle exhaust) and gas chromatograph analysis (hydrocarbon speciation, fuel dilution in engine oil). The Chemist's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Conducting various fuel analyses (fuel composition, heating value, distillation points).
Managing fuel inventory and ordering.
Performing maintenance and calibration on various instruments (including all kinds of instruments in the emissions lab, not limited to chemical instruments).
Supporting testing operations and troubleshooting instrument problems.
Developing new chemical analyses when new emissions testing needs arise (N2O and ethanol analysis on vehicle exhaust).
Investigating new emission analysis technologies.
Participating in Automobile Industry and Government Emissions Research (AIGER) and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) projects and meetings.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry.
Minimum 3-10 years of experience in chemistry analysis with liquid chromatograph and gas chromatograph.
General understanding of vehicle powertrain and exhaust after-treatment.
Experience with vehicle emissions testing and conventional emission analyzers (HC, CO, CO2, NOx, and CH4).
Team player with good communication skills.
Dedicated and well-organized.
Preferred Requirements:
Master’s degree in Chemistry.
Work experience in emissions and/or environmental analytical chemistry.
Experience with vehicle emissions testing is a plus.
