Civil Engineering Designer
Location: Raleigh, NC / Richmond, VA / Remote (Hybrid options available)

Position: Civil Engineering Designer We are seeking a skilled Civil Designer to join our Civil Engineering team. In this role, you will perform independent design and drafting work while collaborating closely with senior engineers. The ideal candidate is experienced in site design, grading, road design, and hydrology, and is proficient in Autodesk Civil 3D. You will contribute to projects from concept through completion, ensuring accuracy, compliance with standards, and clear communication with team members and clients.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare engineering drawings, schematics, and design plans with minimal oversight. Assist senior engineers with research, design, and client communications. Perform technical calculations, analysis, and design in compliance with engineering principles and regulations. Edit and develop project specifications under direction. Conduct site inspections, surveys, and collect data for analysis. Prepare technical reports, documentation, and progress updates. Collaborate with regulatory agencies, architects, and multidisciplinary teams. Support project leadership to ensure scope, budget, and schedules are met. Provide guidance and training to junior staff members. Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR Associate’s degree in Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with hydrology and hydraulics software. Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to travel and attend client or company meetings. Pre-employment drug test, background check, and valid driver’s license required.
