Note: This is a full-time, temporary, benefit-based position with an anticipated end date of September 15, 2026. The appointment is renewable at the discretion of the University and dependent upon performance and continued funding. Responsibilities
Provide individual evidence-based psychotherapy to National Guard service members, including couples and family work as needed. Attend National Guard unit monthly drills and annual training. Deliver behavioral health presentations and training to service members and command leadership. Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, monitor progress, and adjust as necessary. Maintain accurate documentation of all client interactions in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory standards; coordinate care with other clinical staff and outside resources. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and other collaborative activities. Provide crisis intervention, risk assessment and management; develop crisis management plans as needed. Engage in ongoing professional development, including telemental health practices. Participate in training and supervising unlicensed clinical staff; develop supervision goals and provide feedback per clinic and state requirements. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or Counseling Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Clinical Social Work. Current California licensure as Psychologist, LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC by the California Board of Psychology or Board of Behavioral Sciences. Minimum four (4) years of experience delivering evidence-based psychotherapy (CBT, DBT, ACT) including PTSD treatment modalities (e.g., CPT, PE, WET); at least 2 years supervising unlicensed clinicians in evidence-based therapies; experience with telemental health. Preferred Qualifications: National Guard expertise related to service members and their families. Approved supervisor status or candidacy with AAMFT, ABECSW, CAMFT, or CCE. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong organizational and communication skills; empathetic, detail-oriented; team-oriented. Knowledge of DSM-5-TR, evidence-based practice, and measurement-based care; PTSD diagnosis and treatment. Certificates, Registrations, and Licenses: Certification in evidence-based practices such as PE, CBT, and CPT. Compensation and Benefits
