In an Autonomous Vehicle Systems Engineer role, you will be responsible for delivering disruptive autonomous system technologies which enhance the mission capabilities of our customers. Our engineers are involved in the entire life cycle of our products, from conceptual design through testing and delivery. Your day may include designing, modeling and simulation, prototyping, integration, and testing of autonomous air, land, and sea-borne robotic vehicles and their subsystems. We want engineers who can apply new technologies such as machine vision and machine learning to multi-domain automation tasks and communicate their approaches to a wide audience.

Position requires no more than 25% travel.

Responsibilities

Design, modeling and simulation, prototyping, integration, and testing of autonomous air, land, and sea-borne robotic vehicles and their subsystems.

Apply machine vision and machine learning to multi-domain automation tasks and communicate approaches to a wide audience.

Contribute across the product life cycle from conceptual design to delivery.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Computer Science, Software, Electrical, Aerospace, Systems or Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience in robotic air, land, or sea systems.

Experience:

Architecture development (System of Systems, Functional, Physical); Requirements analysis, capture and design; Robotic vehicle design & evaluation; Computer Vision / Perception; Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning; Autonomous behaviors; Modeling and simulation of unmanned or autonomous vehicles & environments (e.g. MATLAB/Simulink / Gazebo).

Desirable: Vehicle control systems, swarming in unmanned domains, human-machine teaming, distributed systems, and coding capability in more than one language; Kalman Filter development and implementation.

Pay and Benefits Textron’s compensation package includes competitive base pay and provides eligible employees with benefit programs. Benefits may include health insurance and prescription plan coverage, dental insurance, family building benefits, vision insurance, mental health resources, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and programs that provide employees time away from work. The pay range should be used as a general guide only. Compensation is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

In compliance with the local pay transparency law, the pay range for this position is $107,500 - $163,500 per year.
