MA / LPN - Full Time Objective: Primary objective is to provide nursing support within the Pediatric Department or Clinic-wide when requested, follow instructions of physician or provider, adhere to all policies and procedures of Murfreesboro Medical Clinic and meet the needs of our patients in a teamwork approach. Essential Functions / Responsibilities
Obtain Vital Signs, including manual blood pressures for patients. Collect, lab and deliver specimens to performing laboratory. Set up and assist in exam rooms and procedure rooms as needed. Administer Vaccinations and adhere to CDC vaccination guidelines. Notify patients of test results as directed by doctor/provider and appropriately document in HER. Administer and accurately document medication injections, oral medications, and topical medications as ordered. Keep workspace and exam rooms clean. Document all communications with patients and act as a liaison between the patient and the provider, as well as the patient and other health care agencies. Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence. Must be able to use all computer system/applications used in the department. Meet or exceed patient, doctor/provider, and staff expectations through a cooperative, teamwork approach. Be knowledgeable of and adhere to all OSHA guidelines. Be knowledgeable of and adhere to all MMC policies and procedures Additional duties as assigned. Education & Experience
MA/LPN required. Pediatric experience recommended. Skills / Abilities
Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time. Be flexible. Skill in appropriate assessment, examination, and treatment of patient care issues. Skills in communicating effectively with co-workers, doctors/providers, and patients. Skill in effectively role modeling appropriate behavior. Ability to react calmly and competently in stressful situations. Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with patients, doctors/providers, co-workers and vendors. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize assignments. Environmental / Working Conditions
Combination of office, exam and other clinical settings. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, bodily fluids and other conditions common to nursing situations. Physical / Mental Demands
Varied activities including sitting, walking, bending, reaching, lifting and stooping. Occasional stresses from multiple patient care responsibilities. Department Standards
All representatives of the Pediatrics Department are expected to 1) promote an image of professionalism 2) perform all duties asked of them in a timely and efficient manner 3) focus primarily on providing excellent customer service.
