is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our high-performing clinical team in our North Austin locations. Round Rock and Cedar Park.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Our Medical Team is seeking dynamic medical professionals to join our Urology group. Urology Austin has 13 locations across central Texas and over 50 providers. Urology Austin

JOB RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to physicians and President of Urology Austin.

Works in conjunction with providers, front office staff and billing staff to ensure complete and accurate authorization and collection procedures

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS

Current licensure in the State of Texas as a Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C)

Graduate of an accredited Master’s-level Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program

National board certification as an NP (AANP/ANCC) or PA-C (NCCPA)

Minimum of three years of relevant clinical experience, including at least one year of experience practicing as an NP or PA

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Strong clinical knowledge in physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pharmacology, and the management of acute and chronic conditions

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary care teams

Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation standards

Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a clinical setting

Requires approximately 12 months of on-the-job learning to meet role-specific performance expectations

Prior experience in urology, internal medicine, or surgical specialties (preferred)

Knowledge of urologic pathophysiology, procedures, and treatment plans (preferred)

Experience in outpatient specialty care or procedural-based settings (preferred)

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:

Assesses the physical condition of patients by performing and obtaining comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories.

Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and health care needs.

Prescribes, recommend and/or employ medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatments and procedures or perform indicated procedures in accordance with approved protocols/policies with attention to efficacy, safety, and cost. Recommend interventions to modify behavior associated with health risks.

Formulates and implements comprehensive outcomes-based patient treatment plans based on patient assessments, evidence-based medicine, standards of care, professional practice guidelines and in collaboration with physicians and other interdisciplinary team members when appropriate. Evaluate patient’s response to health care provided and the effectiveness of care.

Counsel patients and families regarding medical processes, management of the health illness/condition, medication and health promotion. Counsel patients about drug regimen and possible side effects or interactions with other substances such as food supplements, over the counter medications and herbal remedies.

Maintain appropriate records detailing the patient’s treatment plans and outcomes. Initiate timely consultation and referral when the problem exceeds scope of practice and/or expertise.

Provide consultation level services for conditions/problems related to the Provider’s specialty and training.

Perform invasive procedures specific to scope of practice and competency of the provider as delegated by supervising physician(s).
