The
Engineering Administrator
will report directly to the VP, Engineering. This role provides an opportunity to support the engineering team, maintain high-quality documentation, ensure compliance, and contribute to the efficient execution of our telecom & underground utility construction projects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Documentation & Compliance
Manage, file, and distribute engineering documentation (drawings, change orders, as-builts, permits, plans); ensure version control, completeness, and adherence to standards. Support compliance with permitting requirements, regulatory standards, codes, utilities, easements, and rights of way. Analytics & Reporting
Build and maintain databases, trackers, and dashboards; analyze project timelines, costs, and resource data to surface trends, risks, and variances. Translate findings into actionable recommendations for leadership and deliver tailored reports in Excel, Tableau, and SQL across operations, design, and permitting. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate deliverables across engineering, field operations, permitting, design, vendors, municipalities, and other stakeholders. Capture and distribute meeting outcomes (minutes, action items, project updates) and partner with finance/operations to track costs, change orders, and budgets. Assist engineering leadership with scheduling, task tracking, and communications; contribute insights and recommendations to shape departmental strategies; and support field inspections by capturing data to ensure designs align with execution. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Education & Background
Bachelor’s degree in engineering management, Data Analytics, Business Engineering & Management Science, Industrial/Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management/Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field. Interest in infrastructure, utilities, or construction engineering Exposure to data management systems or specialized software for engineering/construction documentation. A process improvement mindset, comfortable suggesting or implementing efficiencies in document workflows. Technical Skills
Strong proficiency in Excel, Tableau, and SQL with ability to analyze data and build reports. Advanced user Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); exposure to project management, CAD/drawing software, or document control tools preferred. Core Skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders. Nice to have
Familiarity with permitting processes and working with local utilities or municipalities. Knowledge of telecom outside plant (OSP) design or construction standards. Experience supporting field teams and gathering field verification data (photos, measurements, metrics). Job Type:
