SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER II – SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN - WORLD HEADQUARTERS As a member of the Quality team, the Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for APQP execution for new programs and for current programs, ensuring that suppliers are meeting product specifications. In the event of non‑compliance, the engineer will document issues, notify suppliers, and follow up until closure, following applicable procedures.

The Role: Your work will include, but not be limited to:

Comply with the quality management system.

Lead and manage advanced quality activities APQP with assigned suppliers/programs or any similar customer requirement for different OEMs.

Ensure the internal and external quality customer objectives and requirements are clearly understood and translated into technical specifications (SC/CC).

Review the control plan and ensure its efficient execution in the manufacturing area in all phases.

Lead and participate on the CP, PFMEA, Process Flow and R@R execution and reviews.

Ensure the manufacturing line readiness and tooling validation.

Ensure the proper use of statistical tools (SPC, MSA, R&R, control chart, XR…).

Lead and manage assigned suppliers for current programs quality issues that have impacted Lear JIT facilities through problem‑solving methodologies and quality tools to fix supplier quality issues.

Coach and develop the supplier under your responsibility and support them in the execution of problem solving to improve supplier performance.

Your Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree plus 3 years' minimum experience in the automotive industry (minimum 2 years of experience in quality or 2 years managing advanced quality activities).

APQP execution.

Demonstrated expertise in problem solving; in-depth knowledge of 8D, 5Why’s, Ishikawa and related tools.

Understanding of Lean improvement methods – standardized work, 5S, etc.

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Excellent communication skills.

Bonus If You Have:

Knowledge of IATF16949 quality management system and quality control techniques.

Knowledge of VDA 6.3.

Possession of application knowledge of FMEA, SPC, TQM, etc. methodology.
