Principal Manufacturing Engineer
to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting our Production Engineering and Operations (PE&O) organization. The position requires on-site support located in
St Augustine, FL,
and
cannot be performed
remotely due to the nature of the role. Manufacturing Engineering job duties involve the following: Provide guidance to Engineering regarding design concepts to ensure the best manufacturing technique is being used to meet the Engineering design.
Participate in tool design reviews to ensure tools are feasible and reduce build times and program costs during assembly.
Research, develop, and provide process training as required.
Define sequence of operations for product builds, investigate and initiate corrective actions and improvements that involve non-conforming product and identify improvement opportunities.
Provide liaison support for Engineering definition to influence low production costs for integrated assembly related to electrical, hydraulics, fuels, fluids and propulsion systems.
Support site safety initiatives related to manufacturing processes.
Interface/communicate with multiple levels of leadership, clients, and vendors.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Manufacturing Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree with 4 years of related engineering experience in electrical, mechanical, and/or production manufacturing OR Master’s Degree with 3 years of related engineering experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work any shift or extended work week as business need requires.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications: STEM Degree (Science, Technical, Engineering or Mathematical).
Active Secret or Top-Secret clearance.
Experience and process knowledge in aerospace manufacturing.
Experience working hands-on in a production assembly line environment.
Experience reviewing and interpreting Blueprints and/or 3-D models.
Experience with Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance, or Machining/Fabrication Processes.
Experience in Lean Six Sigma.
Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems.
Experience creating MES Work Instructions.
SAP knowledge.
Experience in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
Experience providing innovative techniques focused on improving product designs and tooling assemblies or equipment.
