Claratel BH is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). The DeKalb Regional Crisis Center provides crisis intervention and stabilization services for adults. The Center offers three levels of care starting with the Crisis Services Center unit that receives walk-ins, transfers from emergency rooms, and involuntary referrals for evaluation. If further observation is needed, individuals are monitored in the Temporary Observation Unit for 12-24 hours. Individuals needing a longer period of stabilization or substance withdrawal management (usually 5-7 days) are admitted to the Crisis Stabilization Unit where ongoing care includes crisis Position Summary: The Crisis Stabilization Services Manager provides clinical and operational leadership for the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU), ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented care for individuals experiencing acute psychiatric crises. This role oversees the full interdisciplinary treatment team, including therapists, case managers, nursing staff, and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs). The manager is responsible for clinical treatment delivery, workflow development, quality improvement, and the ongoing refinement of CSU programming to ensure timely, integrated, and effective care. Key Responsibilities: Clinical Oversight and Supervision: Provide direct clinical supervision to CSU team members, including therapists, case managers, behavioral health technicians, nursing staff, and APRNs. Ensure coordinated, evidence-based psychiatric and therapeutic care, aligning with recovery-oriented, trauma-informed practices. Oversee timely completion of biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, medication evaluations, and discharge processes. Provide support and clinical leadership to multidisciplinary team, ensuring best practices in psychiatric assessment, risk assessment, treatment planning, service delivery, medication management, and documentation. Program Development and Operations: Lead the development and implementation of CSU clinical programs that address the evolving needs of clients and the community. Evaluate clinical and administrative workflows to improve efficiency and client outcomes. Review and interpret service utilization metrics and clinical data to establish goals and inform program improvements. Ensure operational practices meet compliance and accreditation standards while maintaining high-quality client experience. Team Leadership and Staff Development: Supervise shift supervisors and support them in managing and coaching front-line staff. Advise and support shift supervisors on staffing concerns, including workload distribution, coverage gaps, and resource allocation to ensure safe and effective unit operations. Facilitate regular interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure cohesive treatment planning and service delivery. Provide training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to team members, including APRNs. Support performance evaluations and maintain accountability for clinical and operational excellence. Serve as a role model for trauma-informed, recovery-oriented leadership and service delivery. Client Care Coordination: Collaborate with prescribers, nurses, therapists, and other care team members to develop integrated treatment and discharge plans. Ensure timely completion of all clinical documentation including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Ensure all staff contribute to person-centered treatment that aligns with individualized client goals and CMO/insurance requirements. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system for all billable and clinical services. Oversee adherence to documentation standards for behavioral health assessments, treatment planning, medication administration, and incident reporting. Collaborate with utilization review staff to support authorization requests and insurance documentation. Collaborate with Quality & Safety Coordinator to support accreditation and internal review processes. Leadership in Crisis Services: Act as a point of escalation and clinical guidance for behavioral health crises, including collaboration with the Behavioral Emergency Response Team (BERT). Ensure CSU services are aligned with agency crisis protocols and community crisis response strategies. Monitor and respond to trends in client needs, acuity, and staffing to maintain safe and effective services. Represent CSU in cross-functional workgroups and contribute to broader agency initiatives. Qualifications: Education and Licensure: Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing, or a related behavioral health field required. Current Georgia licensure as LCSW, LPC, or LMFT required. Experience: Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in crisis stabilization, psychiatric care, or acute behavioral health services. Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or program management role overseeing multidisciplinary clinical teams. Skills and Competencies: Demonstrated expertise in crisis stabilization and psychiatric care models. Strong leadership and team-building skills across disciplines. Proficient in workflow optimization, program evaluation, and clinical quality improvement. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across systems and levels of care. Familiarity with EHR systems and documentation standards for regulatory and billing compliance. Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Fast-paced psychiatric crisis setting with direct and indirect client care. Must be able to walk or stand for long periods, respond rapidly in emergencies, and work in high-stress situations.
