Labcorp Drug Development is seeking a
Veterinarian II
to provide veterinary health care for laboratory animals, offer advice on animal care and maintenance, and train technicians. The role involves monitoring animal health and welfare to ensure compliance with regulations and maintaining facilities for AAALAC accreditation. Responsibilities: Provide medical and surgical care to laboratory animals, ensuring humane treatment with minimal supervision. Assist in ensuring compliance with animal care policies and regulations. Train staff, including participation in externship programs. Serve on the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee as needed. Conduct physical and ophthalmic examinations on laboratory animals, addressing care concerns and implementing corrective actions. Participate in client calls and visits. Manage complex cases independently. Develop skills in veterinary procedures requested by clients. Mentor veterinarian I and other staff. Provide scientific expertise on animal health and research methodologies. Requirements: Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary school or equivalent, with ECFVG certification. Preferred: 3 years of veterinary clinical experience. Veterinary license in at least one state, with ability to obtain USDA accreditation within 6 months. Knowledge of small and large research animals. Ability to work in a laboratory setting with animals. Benefits:
