Overview

Apollo Technical is seeking a Civil Engineering Designer in the Atlanta, GA area. Salary Range:

$60,000 – $85,000. Employment:

Full Time Direct Hire position with 401(k), health, dental, vision, life insurance, and paid time off. You’ll play a key role in supporting the planning, design, and development of civil infrastructure projects, including commercial, industrial, public works, and recreational facilities. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineers and project managers to produce accurate site development plans and construction documentation from concept through completion.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with civil engineers to produce site development plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including site layout, grading, drainage, erosion and sediment control, and utility plans.

Interpret topographic surveys, aerial imagery, field data, and geotechnical reports to identify site constraints and inform design solutions.

Prepare construction documents and design drawings in accordance with municipal, state, and federal regulations, as well as client requirements.

Conduct research and review of zoning ordinances, utility records, deeds, easements, and design standards to ensure compliance with applicable codes.

Revise drawings independently based on redlines and provide updates in a timely and accurate manner.

Support project managers and senior engineers by participating in design coordination meetings and updating stakeholders on project status and deliverables.

Participate in site investigations and field visits for project planning, construction oversight, and documentation of existing conditions.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required

Associate’s degree in Engineering, Civil Design Technology, or a related field, or equivalent technical training and experience.

Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a civil engineering or land development design environment.

Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including workflows for alignments, grading, profiles, corridors, and surfaces.

Understanding of civil design principles and familiarity with regulatory requirements for site development.

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or eligibility.

Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, StormCAD).

Familiarity with Department of Defense (DOD) or federal project requirements.
