Warehouse Associates are individual contributors responsible for executing warehousing activities for incoming and outgoing goods. They receive, handle, store, record and dispatch goods in the warehouse, ensuring packing, storage, replenishment, picking, loading and dispatching are executed safely, timely and efficiently. They maintain complete and accurate data in the ERP (SxE) system.
Location: 640 North Park Drive, Clinton, TN 37716
Hours: Mon‑Fri 7 a‑4 p. Possible mandatory overtime (some weekends). Temporary to hire, currently a 1‑month assignment to assist at a new DC.
Must be willing to perform various warehouse tasks daily: sorting, loading, picking, packing, receiving, put‑away, etc. Requires around 2 years of previous warehouse experience. Forklift or order picker use preferred, but training is available.
Must be open to working all aspects of the warehouse, basic computer or RF scanner skills required. Good attendance and a strong work ethic are essential. May lift up to 50 lbs unassisted. Steel‑toe shoes required.
Responsibilities
- Completes shipments by processing, loading orders, and reading production schedules, work orders, and shipping orders to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
- Unloads, receives and puts away incoming goods, unpacks bales, crates and other containers, checks for damage or discrepancies, and installs strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
- Accurately sorts, labels, moves and stores goods and merchandise, places items on racks, shelves or bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, style or product codes, and arranges storage to optimize space.
- Weighs or counts items for distribution within the warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Prepares, picks, packs and dispatches outgoing goods and merchandise, uses pick sheets in various formats to locate items, removes products from shelves and places them on pallets with a pallet jack or forklift, verifies product and quantity accuracy.
- Loads trucks for customer delivery, installs strapping or bracing to prevent shifting or damage, checks for damage and discrepancies between goods and shipping work orders.
- Consolidates freight for shipping as appropriate, verifies shipping method, appropriately handles and communicates oversize loads to freight carriers, and ensures shipping routes are maintained.
- Enters data into a database or other computerized system to maintain up‑to‑date stock records; retrieves stored information to respond to inquiries and documents discrepancies on an error log.
- Closes tickets or worksheets from customer specifications.
- Operates warehouse equipment as needed to complete tasks (forklifts, cherry‑pick lifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse machinery).
- Assists in inventory level maintenance and inventory counts.
- Follows warehouse safety regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1+ year of relevant experience and/or training; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstration of attention to detail and safety mindedness.
- Experience loading, unloading, picking, packing or moving goods in a warehouse environment; forklift or cherry‑picker experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work orders, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
- Basic computer knowledge and proficiency; preferred technical skills include MS Office, Vista, Control, SX.E, Prophet 21.
- Basic mathematical skills; ability to compute rate, ratio and percent; ability to compute with whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to compile routine reports and write correspondence.
- Ability to work in a team environment and be self‑motivated to accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
- May be required to wear protective equipment (shoes, gloves, eyewear, etc.).
- May be required to pass forklift and/or other warehouse equipment certifications.
- Shift rotation and overtime may be required; extended day, evening or weekend work may be demanded.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs or greater with assistance following standard operating procedures.
- Physical demands include standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, crawling, climbing and balancing.
- Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus are required.
