Heavy Equipment Operator & CDL Driver Specialist

Overview:

Outdoor Escapes & Designs, a premier landscape and outdoor living company, is hiring a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator & CDL Driver Specialist to join our team in the Murray/Salt Lake Valley, UT area.

Job Requirements:

I. Equipment Operation (On-Site):


  • Expertly operate a variety of construction and landscape equipment, including mini-excavators, skid steers, track loaders, and dozers, for tasks such as rough grading, finish grading, excavation, trenching, and backfilling.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of all machinery to maintain production schedules and the highest quality of work.
  • Perform routine daily inspections and maintenance checks on all assigned equipment.
II. CDL Driving & Logistics (Transport):


  • Safely and legally haul and dump bulk materials (dirt, aggregates, mulch, etc.) using Class A CDL dump trucks and trailers.
  • Skillfully load, secure, and transport all heavy machinery (your own and others) to and from job sites, adhering strictly to DOT regulations.
  • Serve as the Logistics Specialist by coordinating material deliveries and equipment moves with project managers and foremen, ensuring the team has the necessary resources precisely when needed.

Job Requirements:


  • Active Class A CDL with a clean driving record (current health endorsement/Medical Card required).
  • Minimum of 4 years of verifiable experience operating heavy equipment (skid steer and excavator experience is essential).
  • Minimum of 4 years of verifiable experience hauling/dumping with a Class A CDL truck and lowboy/equipment trailer.
  • Proven knowledge of legal load securement methods and all applicable DOT safety regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple delivery/operation schedules simultaneously.
  • Must be able to work full-time hours, including early starts and occasional overtime as required by construction deadlines.
