About Wevise
Wevise is a nonprofit founded in 2022 with a mission to make careers in technology more attainable and build a more diverse and inclusive tech community. We offer a free, on‑demand mentorship platform and a city‑focused 6‑month mentoring program called the TechPath Alliance that partners nonprofits and for‑profits to support emerging tech professionals.
Position Details
Title: Volunteer Recruiter (Recruiter)
Location: Remote, US-based
Duration: Minimum 6 months (unpaid, volunteer basis)
Hours: Minimum 5‑10 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement creative strategies to attract volunteers across multiple channels (social media, job boards, community groups, partnerships, etc.).
- Actively source and recruit volunteers by reaching out to potential candidates, screening resumes/applications, and conducting interviews.
- Build and maintain relationships with volunteer networks, educational institutions, local organizations, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Promote Wevise’s mission and volunteer opportunities to diverse audiences through various communication channels.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in recruiting, sourcing, outreach, or a related field, preferably within the tech and non‑profit sectors.
- Strong understanding of volunteer dynamics and best practices for recruitment and engagement.
- Excellent communication, networking, and relationship management abilities.
- Initiative‑driven, with the ability to manage projects independently.
- A genuine passion for driving diversity, equity, and inclusion in technology.
- Commitment to a minimum of 5‑10 hours per week on a volunteer basis.
