Responsibilities
Direct and coordinate the activities of the diagnostic imaging department.
Ensure adequate staffing levels for all imaging modalities.
Review and oversee QA procedures, delegating equipment QA as needed.
Evaluate image quality and provide technical assistance to staff.
Oversee the use of all radiology equipment.
Monitor safety of employees and patients, including radiation levels.
Prepare, evaluate, and control the department’s annual budget.
Supervise the Diagnostic Imaging supervisor and provide direction.
Incorporate evidence‑based practice into development and performance improvement activities.
Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures with leadership and the Diagnostic Imaging Medical Director.
Maintain QA logs for all required imaging modalities.
Participate in performance improvement and CQI activities.
Support and implement hospital policies.
Establish rapport and cooperative relationships with all departments and staff.
Prioritize tasks to accomplish assignments efficiently.
Maintain professional affiliations and participate in professional activities to stay abreast of developments in Diagnostic Imaging.
Requirements
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
Strong leadership and management experience.
Prior experience as a Director or Supervisor of Diagnostic Imaging preferred.
Experience with EMR systems including PACS preferred.
Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Certification as R.T.(S), ARRT, CNMT, or equivalent in a Diagnostic Imaging field required.
2–3 years of experience; 0–1 year of supervision experience.
BLS certification required.
