Security Classification and Education Specialist
Hermeus is a high‑speed aircraft manufacturer focused on rapid design, build, and test of high‑Mach and hypersonic aircraft for the national interest. The Security Classification and Education Specialist ensures compliance with DoD security requirements and the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM). The role focuses on interpreting SCGs, developing policies, and leading the company’s security education program.
Base pay range: $112,625.00/yr – $152,375.00/yr.
Responsibilities
Review and interpret Security Classification Guides (SCGs) issued by DoD to ensure compliance with 32 CFR and NISPOM.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for classified information handling.
Conduct reviews of corporate publications and materials to verify SCG compliance.
Lead and deliver training modules on industrial security, 32 CFR, NISPOM, classification guidelines, and best practices.
Present training to employees and facilitate awareness sessions.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate security education into operations.
Monitor and update training in response to policy changes.
Research current trends and network with partner agencies to develop relevant materials.
Provide guidance on classification inquiries, fostering a culture of compliance.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Active Top Secret clearance.
Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial security, document review, and education with a focus on NISPOM.
Demonstrated knowledge of DoD SCGs.
Experience conducting security audits or compliance reviews of corporate documents and publications.
Experience developing and delivering security training programs, including curriculum design and presentation skills.
Strong understanding of federal regulations governing classified information, including Executive Order 13526.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and training development tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to diverse audiences.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Master’s degree in Security Studies, Criminal Justice, Intelligence, or related discipline.
Industrial Security Professional (ISP) or Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) certification.
Prior FSO experience or similar role within a government program setting.
Familiarity with e‑learning platforms, LMS, and tools for creating interactive security training modules.
Proven track record of leading security education initiatives.
Strong analytical skills for interpreting evolving DoD policies and adapting training accordingly.
Additional Requirements
Availability for extended hours and weekends as needed to support critical milestones.
Willingness to travel to Hermeus offices and partner locations as required.
