Fast Growing Automation Systems Integrator seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer with proven background implementing automation solutions for industrial applications. This individual works hand in hand with the sales team to develop cutting edge automated packaging systems for our customers. As a technical expert in industrial automation & packaging equipment, this role is key in the development of complex and effective automation strategies for a variety of packaging applications. This role also coordinates the integration and Installation of automated equipment for customer projects. This position requires regular travel to a variety of customer sites.

Reports to: Director of Engineering

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

In Collaboration with the Sales team and other engineering team members, participates in project scoping with customers to develop automated solutions for manufacturing & packaging processes.

Possesses technical expertise on the right solutions for various manufacturing & packaging processes.

Gathers pertinent information to develop right-sized solutions for customer projects.

Contributes to large scale projects, such as technical investigation, technical solution, manufacturing study, etc.

Is a subject matter expert in packaging automation systems

Project Proposals and Quotes for Systems (40%)

Develops proposals and quotes in collaboration with sales team and other engineering team members.

Key Note: Presents proposals for projects to customers.

Travels to customer locations to identify solutions, ensuring the correct elements are included in project proposals.

Responsible for pitching to customers and winning bids on projects.

Participates in machinery integration and installation activities at company headquarters and at customer locations

Assist in technical activities with suppliers & engineering team

Assembly and build of electromechanical systems and machines

Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing and installation of new equipment as needed

Provide technical recommendations on projects

Coach and mentor team members regarding troubleshooting or technical decisions

Participate and make recommendations regarding hiring decisions technical personnel onto the team

Project Management (10%)

Manages automation projects from inception, to execution and closing

Work with scheduling team to identify proper amount of time required for service department, installation activities, etc.

Define schedules based on projects and experience’ set tasks and priorities for self and others

Manages personnel to effectively implement automated systems

Ensures overall customer satisfaction on project implementation.

Education:

Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering Required. Degrees in other engineering disciplines considered with relevant industry experience.

Preferred experience and education:

3-8 years’ minimum experience including process development and equipment integration for an industrial, high-volume production environment

Expertise in Packaging Equipment, Conveyors, etc.

Technical certifications (Electrical, robotics, specific machines maintenance)
