About the Position This is an opportunity for an attorney with experience in the power and construction industries to serve as Corporate Counsel to Paradigm Power Delivery, Inc. and Renewable Concepts LLC, providing legal services to the Company—a key entity within the Babcock Power organization.

Under the supervision of the Vice President, General Counsel & Assistant Secretary of Construction (“Construction General Counsel”), the Corporate Counsel will provide day‑to‑day transactional support, ensuring that the Company’s contractual obligations are reasonable, informed, and risk‑mitigated, and will also assist with project execution issues, licensing, and personnel training.

Essential Responsibilities

Draft, redline and negotiate complex contracts including construction agreements, EPC agreements, master services agreements, purchase and sale agreements, parent company guarantees, letters of credit, surety bonds, and other documents related to the Company’s construction and maintenance services in the power industry; communicate contract risk and mitigation strategies to leadership.

Assist the Construction General Counsel with post‑award legal support to project management teams, including contract interpretation and claims; negotiate commercial terms with vendors as needed.

Develop, prosecute and settle construction claims (delay, disruption, differing site conditions, force majeure, cumulative impact).

Conduct legal research and advise compliance on licensing of contractors and engineers.

Focus on multiple priorities, demonstrate superior drafting skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem‑solving.

Job Requirements & Skills

Education:

Juris Doctor degree from an ABA‑accredited law school.

Experience:

Minimum 8 years of experience, including significant transactional work negotiating agreements in engineering, construction, or supply of equipment/services to the power generation industry; preferred experience in change management/claim development and in‑house work within an engineering or construction firm; preferred familiarity with purchase/sale agreements, master agreements, EPC agreements, guarantees, confidentiality agreements, letters of credit, surety bonds, insurance, and intellectual property law.

Location: Overland Park, KS (Remote work options may be considered).

Salary: $150,000.00‑$165,000.00.
