It features an acute care hospital, emergency department, and specialty care center at the intersection of Westmoreland Road and US 21 (Statesville Road) in Cornelius, NC. Atrium Health Radiology – Live Meaningfully - YouTube Job Summary The CT Technologist I performs procedures following departmental protocols and standards, operating CT scanners and related equipment proficiently. Equipment includes scanners, post-processing stations, IV contrast injectors, oxygen and suction devices, patient transport, and monitoring tools. Essential Functions Verify requests and orders, consult with Radiologist if needed, and contact providers for discrepancies. Identify patients accurately using two identifiers, explain procedures, and prepare patients for exams. Obtain complete medical histories from EMRs, review pertinent data, and record information on requisitions. Manage the exam from start to finish, ensuring quality and accuracy. Administer IV contrast per protocols, documenting type and amount. Evaluate image quality, consult Radiologists for abnormalities, and process additional images or measurements as instructed. Perform basic patient care, monitor patient condition, and assist in emergencies including "code blue" procedures. Assist during invasive procedures, maintain sterile techniques, and follow infection control policies. Obtain and administer medications or contrast as directed by licensed practitioners. Follow radiation safety standards to protect self, colleagues, and patients. Report equipment issues and maintain safety and cleanliness standards. Operate radiology computer systems, document contrast administration, and ensure work area cleanliness. Support other medical personnel during exams and procedures. Physical Requirements Moderate to heavy lifting, moving patients and equipment, standing, walking, bending, and exposure to physical conditions such as climbing stairs and working near moving machinery. Use radiation safety practices diligently. Education, Experience, and Certifications Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology. ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine, with ARRT advanced registry in CT within one year of hire, and current CPR certification are required.
