American Association of Equine Practitioners
Veterinarian - Private Practice Ohio
American Association of Equine Practitioners, West Carrollton City, Ohio, United States
Carrollton Equine and Carrollton Animal Hospital are seeking a mixed animal veterinarian to join our busy practices in Carrollton, Ohio. We treat horses with evenly distributed emergency hours at our equine only practice, Carrollton Equine. We treat dogs and cats with no afterhours emergency work at the Carrollton Animal Hospital. Both clinics are fully equipped offering in‑house diagnostics including CBC, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Digital Radiographs (including dental), Ultrasound, Laser, Shockwave, PRP, Upper Airway Scope, and Gastroscopy. Our support staff to doctor ratio is kept at a 2‑4 technicians/assistants per doctor, which allows our doctors to focus on patient care and client communication without being pressed for time.
Located in picturesque Carrollton, Ohio and surrounded by beautiful lakes, farms, wineries, scenic drives, and hikes, Carrollton Animal Hospital has been serving our community for over 50 years. The area offers small‑town charm with many nearby amenities, great schools, and neighborly clients. Our practice is family‑friendly and privately‑owned, allowing for veterinarian‑based decisions in the day‑to‑day operations of the clinic and for very individualized medicine and patient care. No two patients and clients are the same; this is why our approach is always tailored to meet their individual needs.
Carrollton Equine opened in 2022 and serves Carroll County with both ambulatory practice and a haul‑in facility focused on sports medicine/lameness and breeding. We pride ourselves on providing high‑quality medicine in a rural setting with our doctors collaborating frequently with each other to provide the best possible care.
Uniquely, both clinics boast skill in western and eastern medicine giving our facilities an edge when it comes to finding the root cause of a problem. This approach also allows us more treatment options often leading to better outcomes with complex cases.
New graduates are welcome! All our clinicians greatly enjoy mentoring which will help a new graduate to develop the skill set and confidence level needed to successfully practice veterinary medicine. This position comes with a competitive salary and benefits (see below). We also have a large support staff to assist our doctors in managing their patient’s care. Our hours are 7am to 5pm Monday, Wednesday, Friday and 7am‑7pm on Tuesday and Thursday. Weekend/emergency hours are only on the Equine side of the practice with all small animal emergencies going to nearby emergency clinics.
If your goals include practicing progressive medicine and working in an enjoyable atmosphere, please give us a call. We welcome a change to talk to you, answer any questions, and arrange a tour of the clinics.
