Controls Engineers 1 are responsible for designing, developing, installing, and maintaining equipment used to monitor and control systems, machinery, and processes. They work across various industries including industrial controls, water/wastewater, power controls and protection, and transportation systems. Controls engineers are experts in areas such as advanced process control, instrumentation, distributed control systems, PLCs, and SCADA systems. They utilize these skills to create solutions tailored to our customers' complex needs.
Responsibilities
Design / Engineering
Develop design documents for small projects and support large programs, including narrative design documents, requirements analysis, subsystem designs (CAD, panels, layouts, wiring, SCADA screens, hardware, communications), specifications, and plans for QA/QC and technical reviews.
Prepare design procedures and fixtures for integrated systems factory testing, and handle comment resolution.
Testing / Troubleshooting / Deployment / Commissioning
Create testing and commissioning procedures, prepare test reports, and perform factory and field testing.
Develop test fixtures and simulation devices, and oversee the commissioning of deployed systems.
Maintenance
Perform troubleshooting on service calls for existing and legacy systems.
Upgrade and replace hardware/software on existing systems as needed.
Qualifications
Education / Experience
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a related field with 0+ years of experience.
Abilities
Ability to work with computer screens for extended periods.
Ability to sit for long durations.
Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
Finger dexterity for manipulating objects like keyboards.
Ability to listen to and understand spoken information.
Effective verbal communication skills.
Ability to read and comprehend written information.
Apply general rules to specific problems to produce logical solutions.
