Overview
The Clinical Resource Unit (Float Pool) is committed to our Nursing Professional Practice Model; we believe in caring relationships with our patients, families, community, and colleagues to provide exceptional care. Our dedicated nursing staff, nurse leaders, interdisciplinary team members, and physician partners practice providing specialized medical and nursing care across various inpatient units, including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Orthopedic, Cardiovascular Care, Progressive Care, Mental Health, and Acute Rehab. Our highly-trained staff utilize current technology and equipment. Medical diagnoses include, but are not limited to, coronary artery disease, angina, myocardial ischemia, myocardial infarction, dysrhythmia, syncope, congestive heart failure, strokes, cancer, cellulitis, post-surgical care, and chest pain. The environment is fast-paced, exciting, and always evolving.

Responsibilities
Performs all responsibilities and duties required by the unit as specific to the scope of service.
Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
Maintains up-to-date documentation of nursing care to ensure effective communication within the healthcare team.
Completes initial assessments upon patient admission and develops appropriate care plans based on patient and family needs.
Implements and modifies care plans, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures based on ongoing evaluation.
Prioritizes patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting safety hazards and incidents.
Communicates effectively with team members, offers constructive feedback, and participates in professional development.
Completes departmental competencies and ensures safety standards are met.
Floats to various inpatient units, including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Orthopedic, Cardiovascular, Progressive Care, Mental Health, and Acute Rehab.
Provides direct nursing care, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, and manages care for acute and chronic cardiac and pulmonary patients.
Coordinates patient care, conducts assessments, and documents all interventions.
Acts as a resource to staff from various units and ensures high-quality patient care.
Prepares patients for procedures, manages pain, administers medications, and monitors lab results.
Discharges patients and provides education for safe transition from hospital.
Documents all care using EMR and ensures team huddles occur and are attended.
Delegates tasks appropriately, responds to call lights, and provides basic care such as turning and toileting.
Manages post-operative care for complex surgical patients, assesses and intervenes as needed to ensure positive outcomes.
Receives bedside shift reports, updates patient communication boards, and validates delegated tasks.
Administers medications safely, maintains patient safety standards, and promotes a positive work environment.
Uses critical thinking to evaluate patient condition and communicates effectively within the healthcare team.

Compensation and Benefits
