Transmission Project Engineer – Overview HDR Engineering is hiring a Transmission Project Engineer to join our nationally ranked team of Power Delivery professionals. The role focuses on the technical execution of high‑voltage electrical transmission line projects, ranging from 69 kV to 500 kV, on schedule, within budget, and with HDR and client quality standards met.
Responsibilities
Lead overall technical direction for projects.
Provide scope and schedule support to the Project Manager, including development and implementation of work‑breakdown structure, change management, and schedule management.
Support budgeting for proposal development, progress assessment, and change management.
Implement HDR Quality Management System requirements, processes, and procedures to deliver a world‑class quality product to the client.
Coordinate scheduling for and perform quality reviews of all deliverables, ensuring appropriate reviewers are assigned.
Coordinate with operations leaders and the Project Manager for resource planning and management.
Work independently and mentor, train, and/or supervise EITs, CADD/Designers, and administrative staff.
Independently coordinate the work of engineers and the balance of the team throughout the entire project life cycle.
Participate in project reviews as needed.
Mentor/training relationship with one or more junior engineers or designers.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
Computer skills in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (e.g., PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit).
