Sales Engineer – EV Charging & Energy Solutions Position Summary: We are seeking a Sales Engineer with technical energy systems experience and a strong customer focus to support the sale and installation of residential bidirectional EV chargers. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with project managers, product managers, sales personnel, support teams, and customers to ensure seamless delivery and client satisfaction. This individual will also coordinate with external suppliers, project approvers, and installers to integrate hardware, software, and energy systems effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with sales teams to provide technical expertise during customer consultations.

Conduct site assessments (virtual or on-site) to evaluate installation feasibility and requirements.

Develop and present tailored technical solutions for residential bidirectional charging integrated with home energy systems such as solar and storage.

Prepare detailed technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and installation guidelines.

Work with utilities, aggregators, and energy service providers to support interconnection applications, permitting, and compliance processes.

Conduct witness testing to secure approvals and ensure adherence to utility standards.

Support installers with project scoping, technical training, material distribution, and troubleshooting.

Ensure installers understand charger specifications, communication protocols, and safety requirements.

Explain technical concepts to non-technical customers, emphasizing bidirectional charging benefits and V2H/V2G capabilities.

Provide post-installation technical support as needed.

Ensure all proposed solutions meet National Electrical Code, interconnection, and cybersecurity standards.

Collaborate with local authorities and approvers to finalize documentation for project commissioning.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum 3 years in technical sales, applications, or field engineering.

Experience with EVSE, renewable energy, or energy storage systems preferred.

Familiarity with bidirectional charging standards (ISO 15118), interconnection procedures, and home energy systems.

Skills

Excellent technical communication and presentation abilities.

Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to customers.

Proficiency with CAD tools, electrical design software, and CRM systems (Salesforce experience preferred).

Preferred Certifications

NABCEP, EVITP, or equivalent certifications.

Position Details

Base pay: $45.00/hr - $65.00/hr

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST

Location: Remote (must work EST hours)

Duration: 52 weeks (potential for extension)

Travel: Up to 25% U.S. domestic travel

Start Date: October 27, 2025
