10:00am-6:30pm Monday-Friday

Laboratory located in Fountain Valley, CA
Target Pay:
$22.00 an hour. Pay is determined by relevant skills, experience, education, training and budget.
Job Purpose/Overview The Chemistry Laboratory Technician II performs laboratory analyses, tests, prepares samples, sets up instruments, runs tests, reads/interprets results, and releases results.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Set up and run laboratory tests.
Read and release test results.
Prepare and fill all reagents for the analyzer.
Keep track of reagent supplies and maintain inventory on the lots and expiration dates of all reagents used.
Operate and troubleshoot the analyzer.
Reconcile pending and queue lists daily.
Ensure that manifest submissions are managed properly.
Calibrate, run, or enter QC (Quality Controls) into QA software and ensure QC has passed before running and releasing patient samples.
Run verifications and perform equipment maintenance activities.
Comply with all QA policies and protocols.
Report any technical/QC problems to lead tech or supervisor.
Follow applicable SOPs, including safety and quality procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized work area. Restock supplies as needed.
Be cross‑trained to perform other duties, such as fewer complex tests, and participate in improving lab efficiency, quality, and cooperation.
Consult with senior peers on non-complex Chemistry tasks to learn through experience.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education And Experience
High school diploma or equivalent, 2‑ or 4-year degree in science-related field preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Laboratory skills/experience including setting up, running, and reading lab tests and operating lab instruments.
Knowledge of medical and laboratory terminology and chemistry procedures and equipment is helpful.
General science background.
Attention to detail and organized with ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective communication skills.
Proficiency in English for accurate data entry and understanding written directions.
Positive, can‑do attitude.
Personal computer skills, including typing and Microsoft Office.
Working Conditions
Stationary position – able to remain stationary for up to 2 hours.
Operates a computer and lab equipment accurately and efficiently.
Occasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch.
Required to lift, move, and carry up to 20 lbs.
Ability to observe details at close range.
Extended hours may be needed.
Laboratory environment with potential biohazards.
Works under moderate supervision.
Potential exposure to zoonotic diseases and hazardous chemicals.
