Base Pay Range $90,000.00/yr - $108,000.00/yr
Role Summary Seek a self‑motivated production development engineer to work closely with design engineering, production, safety, and quality to improve production efficiency, production line setup, troubleshoot production and testing issues, improve processes and equipment, and ensure continuous flow of manufactured product without defects.
Responsibilities
Technical support, troubleshooting, and problem solving in production.
Develop new and maintain existing build and test instructions to ensure products are built and tested correctly every time.
Support new product hand‑off to Production including production line setup, test equipment configuration, and manufacturing assembly/test operator training.
Lead production line 3P and improvement projects including conducting time studies, capacity analysis, and line balancing to optimize throughput and improve process sustainability.
Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing test equipment, repair cable harnesses, reset test software, and update settings as needed.
Design and validate production tooling, fixtures, production assembly and test lines/cells, quality control plans, and automation solutions.
Develop, maintain, test, and execute engineering changes to improve manufacturing (DFM/A), control costs, ensure quality, and resolve issues.
Develop and implement scalable production processes that incorporate lean methodology to meet business growth and new technology introduction targets.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent in a technical field of study.
5+ years of technical support and/or new product introduction experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience working and communicating with test equipment such as voltmeters, data acquisition systems, oscilloscopes, load banks and similar instruments to make manual and automated measurements.
Experience with software programming and basic ability to read and step through code to determine where issues exist.
Ability to understand and troubleshoot technical systems and their associated communication interfaces.
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical part drawings.
Understanding manufacturing principles, lean and six sigma methodologies, and process validation.
Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills for articulating technical approaches and progress to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Flexible team player who actively establishes and maintains effective working relationships with company management and co‑workers, suppliers, and occasionally with customers.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced expertise in software programming and coding.
Experience with interactive use of ERP systems (SyteLine) for accessing BOMs, item masters, where‑used, and supplier information.
Prior experience leading Kaizen and other manufacturing improvement projects and events with cross‑functional teams.
Location Longmont, CO (on‑site)
Compensation Base Compensation: $90,000 - $108,000 is the projected compensation range for this role depending on the candidate’s overall qualifications and experience.
