Ensure proper set‑up and delivery of meals and supplies for patients and non‑patients. You will manage food receipt, storage, preparation, nutritional data collection, and support the diet team to maintain quality and safety in the food service department.
Essential Responsibilities
Collect patient meal and snack preferences per diet order, ensuring age‑specific, allergy, religious, cultural, and personal preferences are accommodated.
Print documents using CBORD software, prepare tray tickets, and assemble meals accurately per protocol.
Receive and store product deliveries of groceries, tube feedings, supplements, equipment, and paper goods, following FIFO and inventory procedures.
Stock assigned areas (condiments, paper goods, foods, beverages, chemicals) to defined par levels; organize supplies and trays for service.
Clean, sanitize, and maintain pantry, kitchen surfaces, and equipment (coffee brewers, microwaves, blenders, beverage dispensers, refrigerators, freezers, work surfaces).
Record data such as temperature, pH, meal counts, and verify accuracy; log equipment malfunctions.
Prepare orders for food, beverages, paper goods, and tube feedings; maintain statistical, financial, and calendar records.
Monitor patient information (admission, transfer, diet order changes); update CBORD with meal orders, preferences, and restrictions.
Utilize facility technology (email, intranet, CBORD, Health Connect, word processing, spreadsheets) to complete tasks and maintain communication with the care team.
Prepare commissary orders daily to ensure adequate inventory.
Troubleshoot customer and clinical dietitian inquiries, providing appropriate referrals or follow‑up.
Assist in training new employees as needed.
Perform other related duties as required.
