Our client, a specialty chemicals manufacturer, is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead all EHS initiatives across its operations. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and implementing programs that ensure regulatory compliance, reduce risk, and maintain a strong culture of safety across the organization’s manufacturing and warehouse environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives across the site, ensuring alignment with company and regulatory standards
Develop, implement, and manage safety programs and policies to minimize risk and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations
Oversee investigations of incidents, near-misses, and hazardous conditions, ensuring corrective actions and continuous improvement
Coordinate emergency response planning, training programs, and regular safety drills
Chair Safety Committee meetings and drive communication and accountability across departments
Support annual budgeting and capital expenditure planning for EHS-related projects
Maintain documentation, reporting, and audit readiness for internal and external reviews
Ideal Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
7–10 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or chemical environment, ideally within a GMP or regulated setting
Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state regulations
Proven ability to lead safety initiatives, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with EHS data management or risk assessment tools
This position is based on-site in Meriden, CT, with periodic flexibility to work remotely as projects allow.
