Overview Task Impetus Inc is looking for a Software Tester to provide testing support as a member of an integrated project development and testing team. They will collaborate with Developers and Testers to test custom developed software as required. The Tester will provide input to project release plans covering inception through delivery and ongoing operational maintenance, analyze and solve complex testing related problems, and review other developers and testers’ work products for correctness and adherence to project design and standards.

Responsibilities

Test case development

Manual testing of software functionality

Coordination and prioritization of testing activities

Analyzing complex requirements and design documents to develop detailed step-by-step manual test cases

Executing manual test cases; documenting actual results during execution; reviewing test results and reporting

Collaborating with teams to identify process improvement strategies and develop effective testing solutions

Creating and maintaining quality metrics

Collaborating with peers to create parameters and comparison data for improved accuracy

Independently performing post-production validation

Assisting with coordinating non-functional testing activities, including performance testing, security testing, and penetration testing

Remaining abreast of trends in testing tools and strategies

Leading complex testing projects as a subject matter expert

Relies on experience and judgment to perform job duties without supervision or direction

Tracking status of defects and reporting completion of remediation efforts

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

1+ years of experience as a software test engineer (freshers also eligible)

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to work productively in a dynamic, priority-shifting, deadline-driven environment

Excellent organizational, presentation, and business analysis skills

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Industry experience is not required but would be helpful
