SDET/Automation Tester – Quality Careers in Test Automation (39204)
Overview
Task Impetus Inc has been meeting customers wherever they are in the digital life cycle and helping them outperform their competition through speed and innovation. The Decision Management team is looking for a Software Development Engineer or Automation Tester in Test to execute on our regression test strategy forward by consistently innovating and problem‑solving. The ideal candidate is passionate about software development and testing, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an ability to drive and introduce improvements to our existing regression test coverage and strategy.
Responsibilities
Assist in the creation and estimation of stories ensuring they are testable.
Run manual acceptance testing of all user stories in backlog.
Build and run manual regression test suites.
Eventually build and run automated testing suites using Appium in JavaScript, Kotlin, or Ruby.
Identify and report framework defects, track issues, and work with developers to resolve them.
Maintain and update automated test scripts as the business logic enhances/new functionality comes in.
Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on test‑related code.
Work with page objects created by the development team to create well‑structured and reusable tests.
Work with developers and product managers to debug and triage issues.
Track defects from creation to closure; document detailed description of defect and work with developers to close them.
Assist the test lead on performing an internal quality assurance check on all deliverables.
Provide assistance to business analysts with business/functional requirements and developers with technical details.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
1+ year(s) of experience in automation testing.
Experience with test methodologies, QA process, and the software release cycle.
Knowledge of operating systems and networking.
Knowledge of release procedures and software defect tracking.
Previous experience in an Agile environment, including planning meetings, standups, and retrospectives.
Good communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Organizational skills.
