The Boeing Company is currently seeking a
Back‑End Software Engineer (Associate, Experienced or Senior)
to support our
Model‑Based Engineering Software (MBSE)
team. The role focuses on supporting the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business organization and involves developing prototypes and new capabilities for web applications and services. You will design APIs, build data‑processing pipelines, optimize SQL queries, and create production‑ready infrastructure.
Position Responsibilities
Master your craft and learn continuously
Collaborate with a team to shape the architecture of web applications
Build and expand infrastructure for inter‑application communications, logging, alerts, authentication, and configuration
Create test suites for server applications to verify reliability, performance, and behavior
Work collaboratively to make decisions that impact the entire system
Interface with users and developers to define and implement solutions to meet requirements
Prototype features and applications independently and with a team
Communicate effectively to align team processes with our needs
Basic Qualifications (Required)
Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security Clearance
2+ years of backend software development experience
2+ years of experience in programming languages such as JavaScript, C#, Python, SQL, etc.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired)
Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience interfacing with databases using SQL or PL/SQL
Strong experience with Go or Java
Basic C++, Python skills
Experience with Kafka, NiFi, Redis, or RabbitMQ
Experience with GitLab, GitLab Runner, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes
Experience developing RESTful APIs for complex datasets
Experience leading projects
AWS cloud experience
Understanding of microservices, client‑server architecture, event‑driven architecture, domain‑driven design, and other modern architectural styles
Experience in large‑scale software system architecture, design, and development of distributed/on‑premises end‑to‑end scalable software
Travel Occasional travel may be required (less than 10%).

Associate: $86,700 – $117,300
Experienced: $107,100 – $144,900
Senior: $127,500 – $172,500
