Phlebotomist, Laboratory‑Support (Per Diem)

Job Description Performs phlebotomy in accordance with established National Patient Safety Goals and Baptist Health published protocols. Receives specimens into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) accurately and timely, labels, transports, centrifuges, and aliquots specimens. Distributes specimens to the testing section in accordance with collection priority (STAT over Routine). Fax and distribute results as appropriate. Responsible for maintaining knowledge and deployment of policies and procedures within the department and throughout the hospital to address patient questions and concerns.
Qualifications
High School diploma, Certificate, GED, Training, or equivalent experience.
Preferred: Phlebotomy or Registered Medical Assistant certificate with experience in a hospital setting (including pediatric, geriatric, oncology, and neonatal patients).
Computer skills, specimen processing, excellent verbal and written communication, and exceptional customer service skills.
Ability to work in a high volume, fast‑paced environment.
Minimum Required Experience Less than 1 year.
Pay Range $17.27 – $22.45 per hour, depending on experience.
