As an Environmental Services Associate, you will work in the housekeeping and environmental services department, performing routine cleaning, waste management, and related duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and hospital personnel.
Job Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize the environment by completing daily, cycle, periodic, and project cleaning using appropriate equipment, chemicals, and supplies.
Collect, transport, and dispose of municipal, recycled, and regulated medical waste, segregating and packaging waste to comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Transport, move, and deliver furniture, equipment, and other hospital-related items safely using carts, hand trucks, and dollies.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English, and communicate effectively.
Must be able to read and understand oral and written instructions and effectively communicate information.
Basic computer skills (email, internet use).
Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment such as carts, burnishers, buffers, vacuum cleaners, and wet vacuums.
Remain calm in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
Communicate effectively and work well with patients, the public, and other healthcare workers.
Exhibit initiative, flexibility, and teamwork.
Collaborate with nursing and others to enhance the patient experience.
Follow all hospital and department policies, procedures, and training requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
