HDR is an employee‑owned company committed to inclusion and empowerment. We invite a senior project leader to help our clients develop, contract, and implement natural gas and renewable energy generation projects, serving as Owner’s Engineer or Advisor.

Preferred locations include Austin, Ann Arbor, Boise, Bismarck, Billings, Charlotte, Chicago, Denver, Irvine, Fort Worth, Houston, Honolulu, Kansas City, Madison, Minneapolis, Missoula, Omaha, Phoenix, Portland (OR & ME), Richmond, Raleigh, Sacramento/Folsom, San Diego, Seattle, Spokane, St. Louis, Syracuse.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain positive and proactive client relationships.

Achieve project schedule, quality, and profitability goals.

Serve as proposal champion/manager, preparing proposals, reviewing contract terms, and evaluating risks.

Provide daily leadership to the project team and technical staff.

Maintain regular communication and coordination within the team and with the client to ensure alignment on deliverables.

Monitor project budget and schedule, developing recovery plans for potential shortfalls.

Monitor scope, identify scope changes.

Provide training and mentoring on project management and consulting issues.

Guide design or consulting work within the manager’s area of engineering expertise.

Report project progress to accounting and operations teams.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of degree and experience.

Minimum 10 years of power generation project experience.

Registered Professional Engineer.

PMP certification.

Experience managing simple cycle and combined cycle EPC projects as owner’s engineer or EPC contractor.

Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.

Business development skills.

Strong communication, leadership, planning, and mentoring skills.

Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe, and relevant project management software.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field.

10 years of related experience.

5 years of project management experience.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, and project management software.

Excellent organizational, project management, and written and verbal communication skills.
