Summary The Patient Service Representative is responsible for the patient check‑in process, updating computer patient personal information and insurance information, handling a multi‑line phone system, medical records filing and maintenance, and collection of co‑pays and cash payments.

Responsibilities
Performs opening and closing clinic duties
Greets patients, checks in for appointments, and verifies insurance
Scans documents into the electronic health record; maintains tidiness of the waiting area and reception counter throughout the day
Checks schedules for added, canceled, and no‑show appointments throughout the day
Schedules follow‑up appointments as needed
Responds to designated tasks in the electronic health record
Orders clinic office supplies
Sells and tracks cosmetic products
Distributes mail
Prepares for next day scheduled appointments
Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
1–2 years of recent medical office experience or similar capacity is preferred.
Proficient in basic computer functions.
Ability to learn new software quickly.
Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to operate standard office equipment.
Typing minimum of 40 wpm preferred.
Attention to detail.
Multitasking, prioritizing, and teamwork skills.
Positive response to constructive feedback and direction.
Professional appearance and manner at all times.
Friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor; compassionate and caring with others.
