Associate Counsel – Single Family Office
This role joins a Florida-based single family office with adjacent operating companies, serving as the primary transactional attorney supporting a broad range of legal and strategic matters.
Base pay range $180,000.00/yr - $210,000.00/yr
About the Role Primary transactional attorney supporting business and family office operations with intellectual agility, drafting and negotiation skills, and collaboration with principals, executives, and advisors.
Key Responsibilities
Provide counsel and manage legal aspects of business transactions, including M&A, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
Support investment activities across public and private markets, including due diligence, structuring, and compliance.
Advise on family and organizational governance, non‑profit formation, reporting, and philanthropic initiatives.
Actively participate in estate, tax, and financial planning initiatives; collaborate with internal and external advisors to administer trust and wealth management issues.
Handle legal issues related to personal and real estate asset management, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and development.
Oversee insurance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
Support next‑generation education and stewardship initiatives.
Advise on employment and HR‑related matters, including policies, contracts, and compliance.
Collaborate with outside counsel, advisors, and operating company management to efficiently execute matters.
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school; active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Florida preferred or ability to obtain authorization to practice in Florida).
3–6 years of experience in a law firm, in‑house, or comparable environment, with exposure to corporate, transactional, or investment‑related work.
Demonstrated ability to manage diverse matters simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities.
Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
Comfort working in a lean, collaborative environment with a broad mandate.
High level of discretion, judgment, and professionalism.
