University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (UM UCH) is a community-based, integrated, non-profit health system dedicated to providing high-quality care. It serves residents of Harford, Baltimore, and Cecil counties and operates multiple facilities.
Job Description Overview Under general supervision, performs routine and specialized CT imaging procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Executes basic clinical competence in CT across all locations and patient types, selecting accurate technical factors on an individual patient basis and demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care. Observes the concepts of Image Wisely/Image Gently for dose reduction and administers contrast according to facility policy.
Applies knowledge of CT principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation safety, and physics, patient positioning and care skills. Adheres to Joint Commission, state, federal, organizational, and departmental regulatory compliance standards.
Documents accurate patient‑care activity in various electronic health record systems.
Ensures a safe and appropriate work environment. Maintains supplies and inventory, informs appropriate colleague when supplies need to be ordered, documents and reports related equipment/environmental problems, and follows equipment quality‑control procedures with appropriate documentation.
Actively participates in departmental and organizational performance‑improvement initiatives and in student and employee training and education activities.
Qualifications Education
Associate degree or certificate in radiologic technology from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
Experience
One year experience required in CT.
Licensures/Certifications
Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in Radiography (R).
Licensed Radiographer – State of Maryland.
CT Registry preferred but not required.
Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
