Base pay range $86,681.00/yr - $109,650.00/yr

Duties Description

Responsible for planning, supervising, and verifying the work of the unit’s Business Systems Analyst 1.

Research, identify, and document the scope of business process changes or enhancements required by procedural changes or by changes to laws or regulations.

Research, document, and prioritize process and system changes to maintain functionality and efficiency.

Establish timetables for the completion of projects.

Validate requirements throughout business analysis processes.

Perform activities to extract data for forecasting, to establish service delivery metrics, and to provide management with data to make informed decisions.

The Business Systems Analyst 2 will also perform the full range of Business Systems Analyst 1 duties, as needed by the workload of the unit.

Qualifications Non-Competitive Minimum Qualifications The title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non‑competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.

Either

A. a Bachelor’s or Higher Degree AND Three Years Of Business Analysis* Experience Where Your Primary Duty Was Performing Three Of The Five Following Activities

Or

B. a bachelor’s or higher degree AND possession of a Level 2 International Institute of Business Analysis/Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (IIBA/CCBA) Certification** AND one year of business analysis* experience where your primary duty was performing three of the five activities listed above.

Or

C. possession of a Level 3 International Institute of Business Analysis/Certified Business Analysis Professional (IIBA/CBAP) Certification**.

Competitive Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title or one year of permanent competitive or 55‑B/C service in a title SG‑21 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience performing business analyst activities on technology projects, including projects that involved the configuration of Software as a Service (SaaS) products.

The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while supervising staff.

Possess a recognized business analysis certification (For example: Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA), Agile Analysis Certification, etc.).

Experience with Visio, JIRA, Tableau, Power BI, DB2, Oracle, SQL, Python, Smartsheet, Word, Excel, and mind mapping software.
