The University of Saint Mary, a Catholic liberal arts university in Leavenworth, Kansas, invites applications for an open tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position in the new Master’s in Social Work (MSW) Online Social Work Program. The program is fully accredited with the Council for Social Work Education (CSWE). The University of Saint Mary is a Roman Catholic, liberal arts university located in Leavenworth, Kansas, just 25 minutes away from Kansas City. USM serves about 1,500 students at its main campus in Leavenworth, its satellite location in Johnson County, as well as online.
Position Summary The University of Saint Mary, a Catholic liberal arts university in Leavenworth, Kansas, invites applications for adjunct faculty positions in the MSW Online Social Work Program to begin Spring 2026. Faculty must be credentialed in the area of instruction and must be able to pass a background check.
Essential Functions
Teach classes online as assigned by the MSW Program Director
Prepare syllabi and deliver curriculum appropriate for the course assigned
Maintain effective and timely student assessment and feedback
Manage and foster an inclusive educational environment to serve all learners
Maintain student attendance records in accordance with university policy
Submit final grades on time
Demonstrate professionalism with students, faculty, staff, and administration
Timely attendance at all required training and meetings
Complete all required training, including training on Moodle LMS
Maintain expertise in current teaching and discipline technologies
Perform other duties as required
Requirements
Master’s in Social Work (MSW) degree and minimum of two years practice experience required.
LMSW or clinical licensure preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Philosophically aligned with the mission and values of USM
Ability to pass background check required.
