Overview The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is a hands‑on floor leader who partners with the GM to run daily operations, elevate service, and drive revenue across dining room, bar, patio, and private events. You’ll set the tone for service, coach the team in the moment, and ensure every shift delivers Subito’s standards and The Lytle Park Hotel’s Service Pledge.
Responsibilities
Lead the floor: Open/close, manage service flow, seat optimization, pacing, VIP oversight, table touches, recovery.
Champion service standards: Train, model, and audit Forbes & brand standards; conduct pre‑shift line‑ups; own guest feedback loops.
Develop the team: Recruit, onboard, schedule, coach, and performance‑manage servers, bartenders, hosts, and support roles in partnership with HR.
Drive the business: Monitor covers, mix, and average check; execute promotions, seasonal features, and revenue‑generating ideas.
Bar & beverage leadership: Support menu curation, inventory, TIPS compliance, and cost controls; partner with culinary on pairings and features.
Quality & presentation: Enforce steps of service, cleanliness, uniform/grooming, ambiance, and table/station readiness.
Events & groups: Coordinate with Sales/Catering and Banquets on BEOs, room blocks, group arrivals, and special setups.
Systems & admin: Manage POS, comp/void controls, cash handling, deposits, schedule and payroll approvals, and daily shift reports.
Safety & compliance: Ensure ServSafe, TIPS, ADA, sanitation, and food safety adherence; lead incident response and documentation.
Cross‑property partnership: Collaborate with hotel departments (Front Office, Engineering, Housekeeping, Security, Vista Rooftop) for seamless guest experiences.
Culture carrier: Recognize wins, model professionalism, and reinforce communication through Beekeeper and team meetings.
Qualifications
3+ years progressive restaurant leadership experience in upscale/casual‑fine or luxury hotel dining; prior AGM/FOH manager preferred.
Proven track record leading busy services, coaching teams, and elevating guest satisfaction and revenue metrics.
Strong knowledge of beverage service, responsible alcohol practices, and floor operations.
Comfortable with scheduling, labor management, inventory, and basic P&L drivers.
Calm under pressure, solutions‑oriented, excellent communication.
Certifications: ServSafe Manager and TIPS (or ability to obtain promptly).
Tech: POS (e.g., Toast/Micros), MS Office/Google Suite; familiarity with workforce scheduling tools.
Schedule & Pay
Full‑time with open availability (days/nights/weekends/holidays as business demands).
