Job Title Foundry Automation Database Engineer – Intel Corporation

Job Overview Intel’s Foundry Automation group is seeking an experienced Factory Automation Database Engineer to develop and maintain automation data systems that support manufacturing output and productivity across Intel’s global plants. The role involves creating integrated software and database solutions, improving factory performance, and enabling data‑driven automation.

Responsibilities

Translate business requirements into technical requirements for data and database systems.

Develop, test, and maintain factory automation database systems, focusing on robust, high‑performance manufacturing data pipelines.

Analyze, prototype, and enhance automation solutions to improve factory performance, output, and cycle time.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (automation engineers, manufacturing planners, industrial engineers) to implement data‑driven solutions using machine learning, statistical analysis, and optimization algorithms.

Provide input into technical documentation, create product manuals, and support post‑deployment systems to ensure optimal performance and scalability.

Demonstrate strong analytical, collaboration, adaptability, and attention‑to‑detail skills.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

US Citizenship required.

Ability to obtain and maintain US Government TS clearance and SCI access.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field; or Master’s/PhD in a STEM field.

4+ years of experience in large‑scale database design, development, deployment, administration, and performance tuning.

3+ years of experience with Oracle, SQL Server, and PL/SQL development.

3+ years of experience in data transformations, metadata, workload management, and distributed system design.

Preferred Qualifications

Active TS/SCI clearance and Master’s/PhD degree with 5+ years of experience.

Experience in semiconductor manufacturing processes, factory automation, production control, and dispatching systems.

Experience building and optimizing data pipelines and using Agile methodologies.

Expertise in Windows/Linux OS, enterprise networking, and firewall administration.
