Intel's Foundry Automation group is seeking an experienced Software Application Engineer for Government Programs. Intel is shaping the future of technology by advancing AI, analytics, and cloud-to-edge technologies. This role focuses on software development for factory automation within Intel's semiconductor manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
Design, development, testing, and maintenance of factory automation systems, including manufacturing execution systems (MES), production activity control (PAC), and scheduling algorithms. Analyze, prototype, and enhance automation solutions to improve factory performance, output, and cycle time while meeting environmental constraints. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (automation engineers, manufacturing planners, industrial engineers) to create and implement data-driven solutions using machine learning, statistical analysis, and optimization techniques. Provide input to technical documentation, create product manuals, and support post-deployment systems to ensure optimal performance and scalability. Adapt and prioritize work based on changing business needs. Demonstrate problem-solving, collaboration, adaptability, and attention to detail. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
US Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field (or Master’s/PhD in a related STEM field) with >= 3 years relevant experience. 3+ years of software development, design, and testing with a focus on factory automation or similar mission-critical systems (e.g., web services, cloud applications). 3+ years’ experience in C# and .NET. 3+ years of experience with at least two of the following: RDBMS (Oracle, MS-SQL, Postgres, etc.). Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s or PhD in a related field with 5+ years’ experience. Active US Government Security Clearance. Experience with semiconductor manufacturing processes, factory automation, MES/Factory Planning, production control, and dispatching systems. Experience with Agile methodologies, automated testing and deployment, Python (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy) and GUI development (e.g., Applied Materials APF/FAB300). Experience with ML, data mining, and optimization tools (e.g., CPLEX). Strong Python programming skills. Troubleshooting and debugging in production environments. Knowledge of SDLC/DevOps, system architecture, and systems engineering (Windows, SAN, Firewalls, WAN, BCP, Databases). Job Details
