Overview Regional Training Manager role at Family Dollar. Reports to the Zone Training Director.

Responsibilities

Oversee the GOLD Store Trainers (GST) program, including identification, in-store assessment, certification for all districts, and ongoing retention/succession of the GST Program.

Ensure the Store Manager (SM) Training Program is executed per company standards, producing highly proficient Store Managers at the time of assignment.

Oversee and manage the District Manager (DM) Training Program, create DM training plans, provide ongoing interaction and support during training, and ensure highly proficient District Managers at the time of assignment.

Strategically consult, plan, and coordinate with DMs to support Zone People Visits in key markets and major initiatives.

Provide performance consultation to regional business partners regarding GSTs, SMTs, and DMITs; ensure GST selections meet role requirements.

Facilitate GST Certification Sessions quarterly as scheduled; gather feedback to determine performance gaps and conduct needs analyses to determine training solutions.

Leverage adult learning principles and methodologies to support SSC content development that the RTM facilitates in the field.

Provide SME for DM Trainer Program development and implementation; conduct Train-The-Trainer sessions with DM Trainers to enable effective training for the DM audience in their regions.

Facilitate SSC/Zone-based DM Training Program and conduct ongoing quarterly GST Council sessions to maintain engagement and program execution.

Conduct in-person field visits with GSTs to validate SM Training Program execution; communicate with regional business partners pre- and post-visit for proper support.

Facilitate large groups (80–120 people) for major company events; act as a Training Champion to sustain training and embed learning into daily operations and partner routines.

Implement best-in-class learning strategies to achieve learning objectives through facilitation; consult as SME with SSC Development Design Team on assessments, measurement, and productivity tools.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

3 to 5 years in training and facilitation, experience in human resources, business, education or equivalent as a multi-unit manager. Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, results-based environment.

Preferred Experience:

Certification in coaching and/or training (CPTD) or ATD Membership. Retail training and/or multi-unit experience strongly preferred.

Education:

High School Diploma with 3 to 5 years of training experience; undergraduate or graduate degree preferred.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint). Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
