The Opportunity:
Avantor is looking for a dedicated and high-energy Sales Representative to maintain and advance our Education and Medical Research Sales Efforts. This role is a full-time position supporting Houston Medical Center. You will consultatively sell Avantor's portfolio of products and services to researchers and staff by visiting campuses daily. You will build relationships, set up events, work with our suppliers and internal/external partners. Based in Houston, TX Responsibilities
Sell consultatively, detail products, determine customer needs and requirements, and make recommendations to prospects and customers on Avantor solutions. Leverage available resources to effectively implement the company marketing plan, strategies and sales processes. Build and sustain relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and loyalty. Work with sales management to develop strategic territory plans and achieve sales growth and quota attainment. Manage Avantor's product portfolio and execute company-defined sales and marketing strategies. Prospect and establish new customers by managing a sales pipeline and delivering proposals that illustrate Avantor's value proposition. Expand relationships with existing customers by developing retention strategies aligned with evolving customer requirements. Represent and develop strong relationships with manufacturers. Collaborate with local manufacturer representatives to improve product knowledge, pricing, and account profitability. Qualifications
Education:
College degree or equivalent/applicable experience required Experience:
3+ years of sales experience in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders Background:
Science or manufacturing research background preferred Collaboration Tools:
Microsoft Office (Teams); preference for experience in C4C or QlikView Preferred Qualifications: Laboratory or research environment and/or distribution experience with a scientific background Bachelor’s degree in the sciences Excellent communication and team interaction skills with customers, manufacturers, and staff Ability to have business conversations with owners and decision makers Ability to work independently and manage time and territory effectively Strong analytical skills and ability to sell strategically within various account types Ability to understand individual customer operations Willingness to travel to customer locations at least 3 days per week Why Avantor?
