We are seeking a passionate and skilled
Private Piano Teacher
to provide fun, personalized one‑on‑one in‑home piano lessons to students of all ages and skill levels in West Palm Beach, FL. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of music theory, technical piano proficiency, strong communication skills, and a genuine desire to inspire and nurture students’ musical talents and aspirations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individualized piano instruction to students, catering lessons to their specific musical goals, learning style, and experience level.
Reliably commute to students' homes in and around West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, and Jupiter areas.
Develop lesson plans, or follow provided curriculum, incorporating music terminology, technique, sight‑reading, and songs/pieces appropriate for each student.
Teach students proper piano technique and help them progress in their musicianship.
Assess students' progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement, with patience and understanding in mind.
Help students prepare for performances and recitals once a semester.
Keep track of students' attendance, progress, and lesson notes for effective follow‑up.
Qualifications
Advanced proficiency in playing piano. Knowledge and experience in Classical, Jazz, and Pop/Commercial styles is required.
Formal education in music (Bachelor's Degree in music/music education preferred, but not mandatory).
Strong knowledge of music theory, reading, and technique.
Ability to teach students of all ages and skill levels.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Patience and a passion for teaching and inspiring students.
Flexibility in lesson scheduling and availability for in‑person or remote lessons.
Preferred Skills
Experience teaching and working with children, including neurodiverse children and other special needs.
Experience with high‑end, VIP clients.
High degree of professionalism and understanding of client expectations.
Ability to teach a variety of musical genres (e.g., Classical, Jazz, Pop, etc.).
Knowledge of digital music tools, including online teaching platforms, music notation software, or recording software. Some kids love to record, so knowledge of DAWs or production technique is a plus, but not required.
Passion and strong knowledge of music history.
