Venteon is currently seeking an experienced
Controller
to fill an opening with a rapidly growing company based in Orange County, California.
Base pay range $130,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr
Requirements of the
Controller
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
State Licensed CPA preferred
MBA or MSA is a plus
Prior experience as Controller or equivalent – minimum 10 years
Knowledge of (POC) percentage of completion accounting is required
Experience within construction industry is required; experience with property restoration is plus
Familiarity with ERP systems
Fundamental understanding of GAAP accounting principles
Strong attention to detail, along with advanced analytical skills
Must be a self-starter, with excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Ability to collaborate with various teams across multiple departments

Responsibilities of the
Controller
Maintains financial controls to safeguard financial assets of the company and provides accurate and timely financial reporting.
Lead daily preparation of interim and year-end financial statements and coordinates activities with external auditors.
Assists with the preparation of annual operating budgets and monthly forecasts.
Conducts an annual review of the Company’s insurance plans and benefit programs including 401(k).
Maintains accurate and timely financial records, including general ledger balances and subaccounts.
Ensures compliance with all tax and regulatory reporting requirements, including state and local tax requirements, as well as sales and use tax.
Leads improvements in the accounting system and other related software programs.
Suggests improvements in internal processes to drive efficiency and accuracy.
Prepares monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP accounting principles.
Serves as the primary lead for oversight of the month‑end close process and cash management functions.
Supervises, leads and develops the accounting team.
Understanding of percentage of completion accounting, job costing and relevant project accounting controls.
Assists the CEO with special projects as needed.
