Job Summary The Students Middle School Groups Leader oversees all cGroups, volunteer leaders, and relational environments for middle school students (grades 6–8). This person creates spaces where students can belong, build real relationships, and grow in life and faith. They are responsible for recruiting, developing, and caring for adult and student volunteer leaders; creating consistent cGroup structures; and helping students connect meaningfully. This person plays a key role in shaping the middle school experience, engaging with schools and the community, leading events, contributing to camp planning and group organization, and supporting the Influencers high school internship program.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Oversight: This position oversees all middle school cGroup environments, volunteer leaders, and events. They ensure every student has a consistent, caring group experience and that leaders are equipped to lead through relationship, not just responsibility.
Recruiting & Growth: Responsible for recruiting and developing new cGroup leaders and volunteers. Creates systems to sustain growth in both leader and student engagement.
Training & Development: Coordinates onboarding, training, and ongoing development for leaders. Coaches leaders to connect with students in ways that build trust, influence, and personal growth.
Community Presence: Actively builds a presence in Cincinnati middle schools through attending lunches, games, and events. Forms partnerships that help students connect to positive community and ministry opportunities.
Influencers Program: Helps lead and execute the Influencers high school internship program alongside the Oakley Student Pastor and High School Director. Coaches and supports Influencers who serve within middle school ministry.
Events & Camp: Leads middle school events throughout the year and plays a significant role in planning and executing Crossroads Students Camp, particularly with cGroup assignments and leader coordination.
Collaboration: Partners closely with the Oakley student staff and Site Support Team to ensure alignment in teaching, programming, and overall student experience.
EXPECTATIONS: Build and sustain a thriving middle school cGroup ministry where students feel seen, known, and cared for. Grow volunteer leaders and student participation both spiritually and numerically. Maintain a strong presence in middle schools and the local community. Contribute to camp planning, cGroup organization, and the Influencers program. Be an active part of the Oakley Students and Crossroads community, living out the mission and values of the church.
Education Requirements
High School or equivalent
Experience/Skills Requirements
Proven ability to manage multiple duties and priorities in deadline‑intensive situations
Able to flourish in a creative team environment as well as operate independently
Experience building volunteer teams and leading them to excellent execution
Excellent interpersonal skills, both in technical and non‑technical environments
Background in designing services and managing the details
Proficient in Planning Center Online and Multitracks
Performs effectively under pressure and against strict time constraints
Physical Requirements
Must be able to walk up to 3 miles
Able to lift 25 lbs.
Scheduling/Travel Requirements
Available to work evenings, weekends, and long hours.

Availability: Expected to work outside of “normal” schedule for All Hands on Deck high‑impact events (Holy Week/Easter, Super Bowl, Christmas, others as needed), participate in all‑staff meetings, day of solitude, offsites, etc.
